On the weekend of the 27th-29th June, I will be partaking in a bike ride from London to Brussels - more specifically, from Waterloo to Waterloo! It's an approx. 240 mile ride, split across three days (and no, the channel crossing is by ferry, not by bike :) ).

The trip is organised by Team Painkillers (http://facebook.com/teampainkillers), who cycled to Paris last year. They are cycling for the British Heart Foundation, but have permitted me to cycle for Anthony Nolan instead!

Anthony Nolan is a great charity helping people with blood cancer find donors. A donation of £10 pays for one saliva kit (for doing DNA sequency stuff), and it costs a total of £100 to add a donor to the register, so your donation would be much appreciated!

Am Wochenende vom 27. - 29. Juni werde ich an einer Fahrradtour  von London nach Brüssel teilnehmen. Das Thema ist "Waterloo (London) nach Waterloo (Belgien)". Die Tour sind insgesamt ca. 240 Meilen (390km), auf drei Tage aufgeteilt (Und nein, den Kanal überqueren wir mit der Fähre, nicht mit dem Rad! ☺)

Die Tour wird von Team Painkillers ("Schmerzmittel") organisiert (http://facebook.com/teampainkillers), ein Team, das letztes Jahr für die British Heart Foundation nach Paris geradelt ist. Dieses Jahr fahren sie wieder für die BHF, aber großzügigerweise darf ich für Anthony Nolan fahren!

Anthony Nolan ist eine großartige Wohlfahrtsorganisation, die Menschen mit Blutkrebs hilft, Blutplasma- oder Knochenmarkspender zu finden. Eine Spende von £10 (€12) reicht für ein Spuck-Kit (für DNS-Sequenzierung, die benötigt wird, um Spender ins Register aufzunehmen; pro Spender, der ins Register aufgenommen wird, benötigt Anthony Nolan £100 (€120).
