Kilimanjaro
Challenge

I am going to
attempt to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in September 2019. I will be hiking to raise
funds for two charities, the firefighters Charity and the Children’s Burns
Trust. I am hoping to attract some corporate and some individual donations to
reach a fund raising target of £10,000 to be split between the two charities.
The whole expedition will take about seven days, travel through four different
climate zones and reach extreme altitude at almost 6000 metres. All the costs
of the expedition are being met personally and not from any of the money
donated for the two charities. I have chosen these two because I am a trustee
of the firefighters charity and chair of trustees of the Children’s Burns Trust.
There is a brief descriptor for each charity below and I would add that both
organisations have moving and inspiring stories to tell and do fantastic work
to support burns survivors and the brave women and men who protect our
communities when they themselves need help.

Our support programmes include
rehabilitation, recuperation, psychological & nursing across our 3 centres.
We also offer local assistance. It costs over £8 million a year to meet the
needs of our beneficiaries & with no regular government funding we are
reliant on donations & fundraisin

About the charity

Children's Burns Trust

The charity is dedicated to providing
rehabilitation support for burned and scald injured children & their
families as well as prevention & awareness campaigns. A burn injury is for
life, the scars are physical as well as psychological and can present life long
challenges. Your Donations are vital.
