Story
Since September 2008 I've been employed at the Harrow and Hillingdon Branch of the Alzheimers Society in Northwood Hills, Middlesex.
I've been running music sessions and gym sessions in a flat adjacent to the main building. I've seen the way that clients can benefit from these activities, and the enjoyment that they derive from them. I've even grown to believe that activities I've done with the clients have slowed the progress of their dementia.
With your help I want to upgrade the day centre environment. To make it an even more enjoyable place for the clients to visit.
I want to bring in a music centre, a DVD player, a new computer. To use them to extend my music sessions. To enhance the quality of the clients experience of listening to music, and the overall quality of their visits to the centre.
As caring professionals we can empower people to fight their dementia, and we can empower them to continue to enjoy their lives.
I want to raise upward of £1,000. The more money raised the more equipment we can buy.
By supporting me, you're also supporting people with dementia as they fight to live as full a life as they can in spite of their condition. I hope and believe that by our efforts we can enable them to enjoy life that much more.
Any contribution you can make will be appreciated.
And on behalf of the people I'm supporting, thank you for your support.
Best Wishes,
Paul Gardner
