Story

I'm attempting one of the toughest endurance challenges in the UK later this year to raise funds for HOOP.

The Bob Graham Round is a 72-mile circuit of 42 fells in the Lake District, including the 3,000-foot peaks of Skiddaw, Helvellyn and Scafell Pike. The aim is to complete the entire challenge in under 24 hours.

Money raised for HOOP will help children and teenagers access the support they need to tackle obesity, including funding to attend MoreLife Summer Camp.

The Bob Graham Round is the toughest challenge I’ve ever set myself, but it’s well worth it to raise funds for such an important cause. It seems fitting that I should push myself to my limits in order to help children push theirs, and overcome their greatest life challenge.

More about the Bob Graham Round

The Bob Graham Round is considered by many as one of the most demanding tests of endurance for an amateur athlete or mountaineer.

The round is named after Bob Graham who in 1932 set the record for the number of Lakeland fells traversed in 24 hours.

The Round has since been successfully completed by fewer than 1800 people by the end of 2012. Although it is possible to complete the basic round at a fast walking pace, most contenders choose to run at least the level ground.
