Story
Well, I've finally done it - but it's not too late if you still want to sponsor me. I'll be leaving my page up for another week or so.
After the disappointment of the Windermere Swim being cancelled because of blue-green algae, I took part in the Great Salford Swim instead.
I wasn't looking forward to it as much as Windermere but it turned out to be a fantastic day. The water wasn't too cold and the course was great for specators.
Tanya and the girls were able to follow me along the quayside. It was nice to have some support close at hand.
I'm please to say Calvin, Melissa, Harvey and Corey turned up as well. (Calvin was just making sure he got £20 worth of effort out of me!)
The swim took 33 minutes and 14 seconds, which I was fairly pleased with for a first attempt.
The important thing is, thanks to your generosity I've raised about £700, including cash donations and gift aid, for the Hull Daily Mail's charity of the year Dove House.
Thank you for your support. The thought of having to give everyone a refund kept me going.
Best wishes
