UPDATE:

I managed to raise over £160 (many thanks to those who sponsored me), finished in 49 minutes and am currently tackling stairs in a crab style motion!

SUMMARY

Basically I want your money for running the Bristol 10k on Sunday 9th May 2010.

As detailed below the money will be going to great causes across the globe.

What's one less lunch or a few less pints to help change the world?

DETAIL

Last year's Great North Run went well and I managed to raise over £350 for the Alzheimer's Society hence I decided to don my cheap manky running shoes again and run the Bristol 10km in aid of Love Running - http://www.woodlandschurch.net/love-running-charities

The aim of the charity is three fold:

1/ Love Running to those in Poverty - supporting the work of World Vision in Zimbabwe.

2/ Love Running to those suffering Oppression - Supporting the work of Stop the Traffik (It is estimated that there are 12.3 million people in forced labour worldwide, of which 2.4 million are the result of human trafficking).

3/ Love Running to those in Need - three local charities will be supported:
    * St Peter's Hospice is Bristol's only adult hospice caring for local people with incurable illness.
    * The Crisis Centre works with some of the poorest and most vulnerable members of society.
    * The Noise provides community action and transformation in Bristol's urban priority areas.

So what can a poxy local 'running club' and a church do? (do churches even still exist?)

Help change the world - that's what!

Last year Just Running raised approximately £70,000 and we hope to smash the £100,000 barrier this year.

Watch out for over 550 cool kids dressed in Love Running red T-Shirts - I will be the sexy leader of the pack, doing a Paula Radcliffe 'grid squat break' half way round and finishing 1st in under 20 minutes!
