A moment of madness and I decided to run a half marathon here in Barbados..

As ever I will be running for Crusaid; Crusaid is a grant making and fundraising charity that exists to support people living with HIV and AIDS. Crusaid has a national and international reach and works with those communities most at risk and affected by HIV and AIDS in their countries. 

In the UK Crusaid focuses it's efforts through the Crusaid Hardship Fund. The Fund provides support for people living with HIV and AIDS in poverty in the UK.

Abroad Crusaid works at community level to develop grassroots projects that can act as the catalyst for long term solutions for those communities affected by HIV and AIDS. 

So before you spend all your money on Christmas, can I ask you to sponsor me for a very worthwhile cause. As ever, to put some perspective on your donation, £50 will purchase a microwave oven to support someone with the HIV infection who is trying to manage a healthy lifestyle and cook their own meals.

Please dig deep, and no, I won't be wearing the Liz Hurleys!
