Get the Wine Love Charity Trip 15th – 17th November People raise money for charity by climbing mountains, running marathons, bike rides up and down the country etc etc. All of these would kill or maim a couple of old guys like us! Being slightly older and just a little less fit, doesn’t stop us wanting to do our bit. Paul Dick and a Bunch of other old guys have got together to do what we know we can do well: - Drive and get some Booze. We are doing a Beaujolais trip called “Get the Wine Love”. Named so after the many times these words have been heard from wives and Partners. Bentley, Ferraris and Porsches are making the trip along with the 40-year-old girl in the picture. Old guys should drive old cars! Our chosen Charity is Lynn's Bowel Cancer Campaign. This is a small but very effective voluntary run charity founded by Lynn Faulds Wood. Lynn is an ex- Watchdog presenter and herself a bowel cancer survivor. Web-site www.bowelcancer.tv. Please have a look. Cancer or the big “C” is something that sadly touches all of us at some time, a mother father brother sister or friend is suddenly stricken. No one seems safe and most of us have lost someone. What is good news is the growing number of stories like Lynn’s of people who are cured. Medical advancements are showing more success every year. All charities seek to do good deeds and all are under funded. We have chosen this charity for the support they have given to a personal friend who was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer nearly three years ago. Two more years till we get the all clear and a heart stopping few moments every three months until we get the test results. This charity run is our way of saying thanks to them. Dig deep and give plenty. Thanks in advance Paul & Dick P.S. Prize competition The trip is from Birmingham’s National Motorcycle Museum to Dijon, with numerous stops and detours on the way. When you make your donation have a guess at the amount of miles in total we will do there and back. There’s a prize of 6 bottles of the Beaujolais Nouveau for the person who is closest to the mileage we do.
