Paul and Rachael completed the London marathon yesterday in a time of 5.16.55. 
The weather was hot and the distance seemed much further than 26 miles but we both dug in and finished.
Thank you to everyone for your donations, support at the race and with messages on the day it was all an immense help.
On the 26th April 2009 Paul Risbridger and Rachael Rowe will both be taking part in the Flora London Marathon for the first time and hope to raise as much as they can for this worthwhile cause.
Isobel was a happy, apparently fit and healthy two year-old. On 27th July 2003 she got out of bed in the morning and couldn't stand up. On 29th July 2003, she was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Isobel had an inoperable PNET (Primitive Neuroectodermal tumour) in her thalamus. Because of her age, radiotherapy was not an option and chemotherapy was thought unlikely to succeed. Despite an operation to insert shunts to remove the pressure in her brain, she tragically died at home just three weeks after her first diagnosis.

As a Firefighter for Surrey Fire & Rescue Service and with the hope of raising even more money for the Isobel Kelley Fund, on the 5th April Paul with two other colleagues, will be running the Frimley Park Hospital 10k road race whilst wearing his firekit. Despite being ideal protection from fire and heat etc this kit is heavy, uncomfortable and also very hot to run in so please consider this when donating!!
UPDATE 09/04/2009
On Sunday 5th April Paul ran the Frimley Park 10k with two other colleagues from Camberley Fire station in their firekit in a time of 1:02:40. Stuart Calder also ran for the Isobel Kelley fund and has raised an additional £375-00.
Next step is for Paul & Rachael to complete the London Marathon on the 26th April.
