My story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page in support of my Kilimanjaro Summit Climb from 3rd to the 12th December 2009 raising funds on behalf of the Rainbow Trust.

For those of us who are parents the impact of receiving news that our child may have a limited period of time would be devastating. As a parent myself it is news I would never ever wish to hear. At Rainbow Trust charity parents and siblings who have had such news get wonderful support, whilst the child with the illness gets all the loving care and attention any child would require with such a prognosis.

I am therefore delighted to have the opportunity to undertake this expedition on behalf of this organisation. For those of you who know little of this childrens charity further information is available at  www.rainbowtrust.org.uk . Rainbow Trust Children's Charity provides practical and emotional support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Rainbow Trust Children's Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please support me in this endeavour. I won't ask you to carry my bags, or undertake the climb, or do the ardous fitness training bit. All I ask is that you give generously and be mindful that  the recipients of your generosity are children with not enough time  to undertake the climb themselves.

Thank you in anticipation of your sponsorship.

Rainbow Trust Children's Charity

Charity Registration No. 1070532

This year Rainbow Trust celebrates its 25th anniversary. Founded in 1986, we have now supported thousands of families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. With the help of the families who share their inspirational stories about the difference Rainbow has made to their lives, we have been able to raise our profile and tell more people about the valuable work that we do. From the humble beginnings of two staff and a kitchen table to work from, Rainbow is now a national charity and supports approximately 1000 families across England. Thanks to the dedication and hard-work of staff and volunteers, Rainbow continues to grow year on year and makes progress towards achieving its vision that one day all terminally ill children and their families will have access to a Rainbow carer. To mark this anniversary, Rainbow will be holding special profile raising fundraising activities to make this year our most successful yet.
