Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. "It's a mere walk in the park on a Sunday morning whilst going to fetch the paper.....isn't it?" Actually I will be 'puffing and blowing' my way up to the incredible altitude of 5,545 (18,192ft) in aid of a charity that carries out the most fantastic work. Some basic facts on the Everest Base Camp experience: This is classed as an 'Extreme Charity Challenge' It is 62% of the way up Mount Everest (4 times the height of Ben Nevis) There can be up to 60% less atmosphere at this altitude Temperatures will range from +16 degC to -15 degC We walk 120 Km over 13 days (sounds easy but not at these altitudes) Why do this? It is widely quoted that 1:3 of us will be effected by cancer during our life and this is true in my case; my brother died ay the young age of 35 from bowel cancer and my wife has had ovarian cancer, also at a very young age - now is the time to put something back, so this is in memory of my brother and with thanks that my wife is still with me. The Sponsorship Bit I have always believed in aiming high so please help me in achieving this significant total.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Weldmar Hospicecare Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
