Story

Paul Frederick Odell Broom passed away after a brave battle with Lymphoma on the 14th January 2009.

Paul leaves behind many whom he loved and who in return completely adored him - including his beloved wife Jill, their three children Matt, Jess and Tom, his mother Aileen and brother Neil.

An indescribable loss. Paul will forever be cherished and remembered by the many people whose lives he touched during his 61 years.

In the final seven months of Paul's life, he was treated by some of the finest medical staff in the world in the Bodley Scott Ward at St Bartholomew's Hospital in the City of London.

Under the care of Professor Andrew Lister and Professor Ama Rohatiner, Paul was treated by a highly skilled medical team who did everything possible to fight this relentless and unforgiving illness. We firmly believe that Paul was offered the best possible treatment, giving him the best chance of overcoming his illness.

During this time, the family was also humbled by the levels of sensitivity, compassion and devotion exhibited by every member of the team in the Bodley Scott Ward. It is therefore the family's wish that any kind donations are passed to the Ward to continue its fine work. The donations will fulfill a dual purpose: -

A) The purchase of "Dynamap" monitoring equipment for acutely ill patients. This piece of monitoring equipment takes regular blood pressure, pulse, monitors heart tracing and oxygen levels all in one screen. This has been specifically requested by the nurses.

B) Provision of funds for researching effective treatments of Lymphoma and Leukemia, a team led by Professor Andrew Lister.

All donations are greatly appreciated and will go towards a very worthy cause.
