Raising money for Watford Mencap

Watford Mencap supports adults and children with learning disabilties in SW Herts. It does this through a range of services including advice & advocacy, residential services, community support and our Children's Centre in North Watford. Although affiliated to them, Watford Mencap receives no funding from National Mencap.

So 2 questions - what is Tough Guy and why am I doing it??

www.toughguy.co.uk is possibly the hardest (& craziest) thing I have ever signed up to do and is described as the ‘safest most dangerous physical mental task day in the world’! So why put myself through such pain.....well, I am raising money for Watford Mencap who are an excellent local charity, completely self funded & supports over 500 people with a learning disability, their families and their carers in South West Hertfordshire.

Last Christmas we raised enough money to put on a Christmas party for the kids, and they got to meet Santa which was great! Seeing first hand what an fantastic job the centre does and how amazing the kids are left me wanting to do more, and as I cant run far enough to do a marathon this seemed an equally if not more challenging proposition!!

Any donation is greatly received and will make a massive difference to the ongoing support to the kids and the survival of the centre - every year Watford Mencap needs to raise £200,000 to support children and young people with learning disabilities. So please dig deep and donate now.
