Paul's African Challenge for Brittle Bones · 19 July 2012
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Some of you may know that my step-daughter Lucianna has the condition known as Brittle Bones. She, I might add is one of the lucky ones. She has a mild form but many folk with this condition are not so fortunate and are resigned to having to use a wheelchair and any other number of adaptations around the home.....things we able bodied people take for granted.
The Brittle Bone Society work tirelessly to help raise awareness of this often misunderstood condition and work relentlessly to provide funds for much needed wheelchairs and various pieces of equipment.
Last year my friends and family raised nearly £4,000.000 for this very worthy cause. 18 months later I have chosen to attempt to climb Mt.Toubkal in North Africa whilst trying to raise £2,000.000. This is no ordinary challenge as I myself suffer with chronic sciatica and as a life long smoker (naughty boy) I am going to find the high altitude stuff really tough.
I'm not a do gooder...I'm an ordinary person who just wants to help extraordinary people. Don't take my word for it, go and visit http://www.brittlebone.org/ and see for yourself.
Please help if you can..........Paul xx
