Great North Swim 2009 · 12 September 2009 ·

The Muir Maxwell Trust is one of the leading charities in the UK raising funds for paediatric epilepsy. The Trust's remit is to provide practical support to children with severe epilepsy and their carers, to increase awareness and understanding and to help remove the stigma associated with epilepsy.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Great North Swim is a 1 mile, open water swim in Lake Windermere. I am regular swimmer and have been swimming to keep fit for over 20 years but have never done any distance in a cold lake.Training at my local pool has been going well by doing longer distances than normal, but I have just come back from holiday where I have gained 6 pounds and broke a toe. I still intend to complete the challenge without a wetsuit If possible.

The charity I am supporting gave my friends Tony and Cath Bell much needed help and advice when their son, Jack, developed a rare form epilepsy and any amount would be gratefull.  Thanks again. Paul.
