Story
Did you know that one in NINE women will develop breast cancer at some point in their life. More than 41,000 cases are diagnosed each year.
It has become the most common cancer in the UK, and is the leading cause of death for women aged 34 to 54.
Men can even develop breast cancer, although this is much more rare.
Despite recent improvements in the mortality rates, due to better treatments and earlier detection, the UK still has one of the highest mortality rates in the world.

It is more than likely that you will know a woman who has suffered from breast cancer. It is likely that you have seen the pain that it causes to that person and also to their family.
It is for these reasons that I have chosen to run for Breast Cancer Care in the BUPA Great North Run 2007.
This is my first such event and I will be regularly posting my training log back on the WIGANER.NET website so you can all see how it is going. This can be accessed here.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and any donation you can spare would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards
Paul Farrington
