Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
My Bungy jump has now taken place on November 4th 2008, but you can still donate using this page.
A video of the jump is now available to watch online at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRj8Yeah0iY

Following my Trek of the Inca Trail in May, I have now decided to do the highest Bungy Jump in the World to raise more money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The Bungy Jump is from the Macau Tower in southern China. The jump is from a platform on the side of the tower, which is 233m (764 feet 5 inches) from the ground.
As I will be visiting Hong Kong in autumn to attend a wedding I am able to fully fund this event myself, so every penny donated will go straight to Marie Curie Cancer Care (they will not take anything to administer this event).
This morning I phoned up the Macau Tower to confirm the date and time of my jump and am booked in for 11am on November 3rd (weather permitting).
Many thanks to the team at BBC Radio Lincolnshire and BBC Look North who have taken up this story, which should help raise even more money and further publicise Marie Curie Cancer Care. .
October 15th: Many thanks to Rod Whiting and the team from BBC Radio Linconshire for being so friendly and putting me at ease this morning when I appeared on the Breakfast show.
October 21st: Thanks to everyone at Butlins who have sponsored me, over the past few days I have raised over £400 in sponsorship by visiting people with my forms - I have not yet received most of this money, so I have not added this to my offline totals yet. I will try and catch up the the rest of you in in the office later this week before I fly out to Hong Kong prior to my jump.
October 24th: I have just completed a collection at Golden Sands Caravan Park. This raised another £78.95 towards my total. Thanks to the team for their assistance in getting this organised.
October 25th: I have just completed another collection this time at Thorpe Park Caravan Park. This raised another £93.16 towards my total. Thanks to the team for their assistance in getting this organised.
October 26th: Today I have been out collecting, this time at Tesco Skegness. Today I raised a total of £236.48. This bings my fundraising for my Bungy Jump up to £1218.42. This total includes Gift Aid as well as sponsorship still owing.
November 1st: Only two days to go now. I have just heard that BBC Radio Lincolnshire will be doing a short live spot on air at 7.20am UK Time on November 3rd following my bungy jump 4 hours earlier (assuming the wonders of Mobile Phone technology do not let us down).
November 3rd: I left the hotel at 7am this morning for Macau and arrived at the tower for 10:30. On getting to the 61st floor in the lift, I filled out all my paperwork and was weighed and strapped into my harness while the "Jump Master" was readying the elastic rope. During this time the wind increased and the "high wind alarm" sounded, and my jump was postponed by an hour. At 12 noon I was notified that due to the winds no jumps would be possible today. I am now back in Hong Kong planning on heading out to Macau again tomorrow to try again... I am very disappointed, but hopefully things will be better tomorrow...
November 4th: after getting up at 5:45am to check the weather forecast, the winds are looking a bit gusty today, but as I am not here for much longer I thought I should head out to Macau again and have another try. I arrived at Macau at about 9am and was at the tower by about 9:15. After having a nice sit down outside for a bit while waiting for the tower to fully open, I spoke to a member of staff and he said that the jump should go ahead today, he also arranged for me to get a free fide in the lift up to the 61st floor (this is normally chargable at $HK85). Once I arrived at the top with the member of the crew who was escorting me up, the staff member that went up with me was offered a "test jump" as we were using a new elastic rope today. He went ahead with the test jump and a few minutes later I was at the start of the "gangplank" which you jump from, then I started to slowly and very carefully started to move towards the edge (with my feet tied together). Once I was about a foot from the edge the elastic was attached, and I tried to shuffle slowly right to the edge - this was really difficult with about 50kg of elastic trying to pull your feet from the platform. Anyway a few seconds later I was at the edge (with one of the Jump Team using his foot to wedgy my feet on so the rope did not pull me from the platform feet first.
I was then given the countdown 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. 1.. I thought "Do I really want to do this"... then arms spread, and legs straight I began to fall forwards, which seemed very slow, then suddenly as I left the board I was hit by a huge gust of wind as I started my descent at over 120mph. After a few seconds I felt a reassuring pull on my ankles as the elastic kicked in. After a few bounces I started to be lowered to the large inflatable matress, which will be used as my landing spot. The sensation was amazing. While hanging upside down waiting to be lowered I was actually laughing out loud... I really enjoyed this!!!
