It's that time of year again, I've found an even longer tougher endurance event to raise money for, and this is a very good cause. 

I have been training solidly for  9 months for this event because completing an Iron Man has been a boyhood dream of mine since I began triathlons way back when I was 7yrs old and met ironman legend Dave Scott.

Ironman Lanzarote is on May 24th, 3.8km swim, 180km bike, 42km run, it's going to be a long hot 12-13hrs.  

I have decided to use this event to raise money for another great event in my life which is my decision to volunteer in Blantyre, Malawi as a  trainee orthopaedic surgeon for a year starting from July this year. The work we do there with Cure International (UK) is all about giving children (and their families) a chance to lead a more normal life by providing them unique access to orthopaedic surgeons and high standard facilities.
