Flora London Marathon 2007 · 22 April 2007 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Dear Friends and BBC London listeners,

All done and dusted in 4hrs 20mins. Down on last year but given the temperature (those outside UK please don't laugh) soaring to 23 degrees, I'm quite satisfied with that.

Driven by the fact that it was also ran in the name of my dear colleague and much loved broadcater Eddie Nestor, who had to sit this one out under doctors orders, and for his charity The Stroke Association, I needed little extra encouragement.

Out they came again though, the crowds who were magnificent and as boisterous as the two previous years I've ran put together! In amongst it my wife Maja and niece Robyn who I never fail to pick out fom the crowds.

Please do still make your donation to The Stroke Association, give anything you can no doubt I'll see you here again in the not too distant future for another insane fundraiser.

Best wishes

Paul
