Mission accomplished. On Saturday I cycled into Paris after 3 days of hard work through Sun, rain, hail and thunder along with 300 other riders and 325 miles.

The second day was by far the hardest not only because of the terrain which was harder than advertised but also the weather was atrocious. At one stage we heard thunder and saw the lightning at the same time a sure sign we were close. The rain was so heavy one of the groups had to stop because the support cars could not get through the flooding. We arrived at the lunch stop about an hour late, cold and starving. After lunch we attacked the first hill to warm up after our stop.

Day 3 was glorious,  a lovely sunny day. A very long morning ride about 80 miles through rolling French countryside. After lunch we had a 20 mile ride into Paris, what a relief.

We plan to take 10 wonderful children on a wonderful holiday in 2010. Each child fare is   over £ 700 which pays for the specially chartered aircraft and the hotel in Lourdes. The helpers are all volunteers and give parents and carers a much needed week of respite as well as a great holiday for the children. I am cycling over 520 km in 3 days in June to raise much needed funds. I have been helping look after the children for the last 6 years.
