Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Despite my advanced age and weary bones I managed to complete the quest to climb Ben Nevis. It was the hardest physical challenge I have done in my life.
It was a long, painful slog to the top in driving rain, which turned to snow near the summit (at the end of June!). They told me the views were fantastic on the way up - I'll have to take their word for it - we were in cloud most of the way. It took me 9 hours. I am now paying the price with aching legs and sore knees. Still it was worth it to raise some money for a very good cause - the Grace House Children's Hospice Appeal. A massive thank-you to everyone who sponsored me - it really kept me climbing when the going got tough. You can still sponsor me through this site. I will be collecting money until August. Donating is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Grace House Children's Hospice Appeal will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support. Many thanks for the off-line pledges from Brian Burnie, Doxford Hall, Northumberland (£100); Alnwick Lions Club (£250); Thompson Opticians (£200); Claire Thorburn (£25); John Mowbray (£20); Northumbrian Water (£100); Julie Wilson (NW) (£5).
