Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This ride is for Leuka, a charity based at the Catherine Lewis Centre in Hammersmith Hospital, London, where they strive to find a cure for leukaemia. Finding this cure holds the key to discovering the causes of many other common forms of cancer and cures for them too. Each year our money buys equipment to help with this research. I started the ride because my father George died of cancer and I think of him each day as I do battle with the mountains.
This will be my fourth and probably final effort across the Alps, (the body just cannot take any more!), having taken last year off, I hope to make it safely into Cannes from Geneva with all the Fireflies to celebrate the 10th anniversary ride of the group. We cover over 1000 km in 8 days across 19 of the toughest mountains in Europe with some days lasting for over 10 hours in the saddle. We leave UK to fly to Geneva on June 14th (my wife's birthday, if I survive she'll kill me!), ending in Cannes bruised, wrecked but happy, not really enough days later. Please look at the video that I have given a link to so that you can soak up some of what we go through.
This year we hope to top the funds raised to over £1 million so your contribution is really important to both me and Leuka. All the money, every single penny raised, goes to the charity, nothing is taken from your contribution to pay for the ride - I pay all of my own costs.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
