Some of you may have seen the programme Orangutan Diary aired recently on the BBC about the work that the BOS UK Foundation carries out on behalf of this endangered species.
The BOS rely entirely on donations and with this in mind I’m asking whether you’d be kind enough to sponsor me in running my first Half Marathon to raise funds for Ruthie and the hundreds of other Orangutans at the centre in Nyaru Menteng that need your help.
I’ve entered into this years “Run to the Beat” which is 13.1 miles through the streets of Greenwich starting & finishing at the O2 on 27/09/09. Live music is played at various stages around the course as it’s believed that this can have a positive effect on an individual’s performance, hence the “to the Beat” part of the title.
I’m aiming for a time of 1:50(ish) which I think is quite respectable for an old geezer like me and will hopefully allow me to outrun any Take That tribute bands along the route!!
Any amount you can spare for this worthy cause would be appreciated.
Many Thanks in advance for your kindness and generosity.
Cheers Paul
