I will be competing in both the 'Blackpool Half Marathon' 13.1 miles in April 2009 and "The Great Wall of China Charity Trek' in October a distance of 100km in 9 days! Please show your support - dig deep and sponsor me on line.

This is going to be a challenge for me, not only to complete the events but also to raise the £2000 I have promised the Smiles Foundation, www.thesmilesfoundation.org

My marathon ambitions started in July 2007 when I challenged myself to run 10 miles inside 6 months! I achieved my goal in 1:40:24 at Hutton in November the same year. My target is currently sub 2 hour half marathon.

Your donations not only assist The Smiles Foundation but on a personal note, knowing that you have sponsored me, generates a strong motivating force during training sessions, normally at the point that I'm about to throw the towel in.

I returned from Romania in November 2008, where I met with the team from Smiles, and saw the work the charity undertakes. Their future project is to build a care home for the Romanian people.
