Three Peaks Challenge · 27 April 2009

http://www.rippleafrica.org RIPPLE Africa is involved with environmental projects, education, and healthcare, in Malawi, Africa. The charity believes in providing a hand UP, not a hand out. RIPPLE Africa keeps its costs to a minimum so that your donations go to where they are needed most.

Story

I plan to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. The clock starts at 6 pm on the 3rd July 2009 at the foot of Ben Nevis. At around 11 pm it’s the long drive South to tackle Skafell Pike in the Lake District, starting at sun rise. Once that is completed I go South again to Snowdon in North Wales to get up and down the mountain before the 6pm deadline.

In total this challenge involves scrambling, walking and running more than 25 miles, climbing more than 10,000 ft and driving 450 miles.

I’m not the fittest of individuals, so trust me when I say this will be my toughest challenge yet and I would really appreciate any cash you can spare in support of this very worthy cause.

I will match your contribution up to £1,000 and FM Global have very kindly agreed to match all employee contributions.  Including Gift Tax this means I can transform your donations into £4,560 for the charity!!!

Not quite “Alchemy”, but a fantastic result.

Ripple Africa is a fantastic charitable organisation who believes in giving people a hand up, not a hand out. They do incredible work in Malawi to improve the health, education and environment within one of the poorest countries in Africa. Most importantly though is that they keep their overheads to an absolute minimum, so all your donations can be used directly where it is needed most.
