Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online (once you've stopped falling about lauging at the idea of me doing a marathon). There is a VERY special reason for me doing what I'm doing......

Earlier this year my younger sister, Sian, was diagnosed as having CML (chronic myloid leukaemia) and was told that she needed a bone marrow transplant. Siblings have a good chance of a match, but in my case there was no match. The one time in my life when she really needs me I can't help her - and that's where Anthony Nolan comes in. They manage the recruitment of donors who are willing to give a little help to save others' lives - lives like my sister's - and they NEED more donors. This requires funds, and since I can't directly help my sister, I want to help this way and try and recruit more donors.

So, my plea is actually two-fold:
1. Go and register with Anthony Nolan to be a donor - it's very simple and easy to do - see their website: www.anthonynolan.org.uk
2. Sponsor me to raise money to recruit more donors and find a match for my sister, among others. Believe it or not, despite having this illness, my sister is also training to run the marathon together with me, a much greater achievement. Please take the time to go and read her story and her web page at: www.justgiving.com/Help-Sian-Fight-Leukaemia Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Anthony Nolan Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now and watch out for me on April 23rd 2006! Many thanks for your support.
