Hi everyone,
Thanks for visiting my donations webpage for the Belfast Marathon. Hopefully you're all here to donate your life savings, although considerably smaller amounts are also hugely welcome!
As some of you may know I've been training since January for the marathon and after a lot of ups and downs and rounds and rounds it looks like I'm finally going to make it. I hope.
I've heard that with a marathon it's one thing getting to the starting line and another getting to the finish. But I promise you that I definitely will make the finish, crawling if need be.
I'm running the marathon to help provide funds for the National Association For The Relief of Paget's Disease. (http://www.paget.org.uk/index.htm)They provide loads of support to sufferers of the disease as well as fund research into causes and treatment for the disease.
Paget's is a chronic disorder that typically results in enlarged and deformed bones. The excessive breakdown and formation of bone tissue that occurs with Paget's disease can cause bone to weaken, resulting in bone pain, arthritis, deformities, and fractures.
Hopefully see you all soon after the marathon and I can regale you with my many, many amusing stories of the joys of running 26.3 miles.
Any support you can give is appreciated and also please send this link to friends and family if you think they too would like to help out.
Thanks,
Paul.
