Lenin Peak Challenge · 22 January 2006

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Alzheimer's Society.

On the 3rd of July  2006 I  am going to Kyrgystan on an expedition to the Pamir to climb a 7000 metre mountain called Peak Lenin. It is the 3rd highest mountain in the former USSR  and involves 17 days of  hard work. To summit it is often required to bivouac at 6800m . The route to the summit is a 10 hour ascent along the western ridge which is often subject to strong winds . The descent takes two days.
