Those of you who know me may have met my daughter, Abbi, who is severely disabled. Over the past 10 years, Abbi has undergone countless operations and attended countless outpatients appointments at Sheffield Children's Hospital. I have witnessed, first hand, the wonderful care and dedication of all the staff, from nurses, doctors, consultants, surgeons, anaesthetists, radiographers, HDU staff, porters, cleaners and admin staff. I have spent hours and  hours 'sleeping' on a camp bed next to her, while she recovered from her many operations.

Despite the difficulties Abbi has faced throughout her life, the care she has received  at Sheffield Children's Hospital has been second to none and we are incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful hospital right on our doorstep.  Having spent so much time at the hospital, it holds a very special place in my heart and now I have the opportunity to give something back. 

Our team target is £500 ( although it would be fabulous if we could exceed this of course!)

Never having run a marathon before, this will be a huge mental and physical challenge for me so I hope you will find it in your heart to dig deep and sponsor me -by doing so it will add to the team total.
