The RSA is a national charity providing vital support and advice to sufferers and their carers. It aims to promote a greater awareness of Raynaud's and scleroderma; raises funds for research and welfare projects and improves communication between doctors and patients.

<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit&nbsp;our JustGiving page.</p> <p style="line-height: 14.25pt; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; vertical-align: baseline;"><em><span style="font-family: 'sans-serif'; font-size: 10.5pt;">Thank you for taking the time to visit our team&nbsp;JustGiving page.</span></em></p> <p style="line-height: 14.25pt; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; outline-width: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-family: 'sans-serif'; font-size: 10.5pt;"><em>On the 24th and 25th of June this year, our team will be attempting to climb the highest three peaks in the UK in under 24 hours. We will start in Scotland climbing Ben Nevis and then drive straight to the lake district to climb Scafel Pike and finish the challenge by climbing Snowdon in North Wales. This is a tough challenge. Our team consists of, Matt and Jo Webb, Helen Balhatchet, Mark Webb, Shane Wood, Ane and Paul Fletcher<span style="color: #1f497d;"> </span>. </em><span style="font-size: small;">We also have Pauline Lisk (Matt and Marks mum) and Rachel Lisk in our&nbsp;support team. </span><em>Mark and Jo are both 40 this year and this is what prompted the challenge. We have decided to raise money for two charities. This website is dedicated to the Raynauds and Scleroderma Associations (RSA).</em></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><em><span style="font-family: 'sans-serif'; font-size: 11pt;">Pauls Note:</span></em></span></p> <p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><em><span style="font-family: 'sans-serif';">Raynaud's is a common condition in which blood is prevented from reaching the extremities of the body, mainly the fingers and toes, on exposure to the cold or any slight change in temperature. A small number of people who have Raynaud's also develop scleroderma, a disease which affects the connective tissue.</span></em></span></p> <p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><em><span style="font-family: 'sans-serif';">Scleroderma means hard skin but the hardness is not limited to the skin - the internal organs and their blood supply may become damaged.&nbsp; Scleroderma can be devastating not only for the person who has the condition but also for the families concerned. </span></em></span></p> <p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><em><span style="font-family: 'sans-serif';">Bill Fletcher, my Dad, was one of the unlucky few to contract both Raynaud's and Scleroderma.</span></em><em><span style="font-family: 'sans-serif';">&nbsp; Whilst he battled against the condition he continued to give his own time to help others and worked as a volunteer for the Hospital Ambulance service taking those who were too old or unwell to and from Hospital.&nbsp; He lost his battle with the illness over 15 years ago. &nbsp;I had intended to do the Three Peaks Challenge, for the RSA, whilst he was still alive and I was much younger. &nbsp;Unfortunately it didn&rsquo;t happen, so team Peaks Of Our lives have decided to give some of our time, and a little effort to raise money for such a good cause.</span></em></span></p> <p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><em><span style="font-family: 'sans-serif';">Raynaud's and Scleroderma are lesser known ailments which effects more people than you would think.</span></em></span></p> <p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><em><span style="font-family: 'sans-serif';">If you feel you would like to donate and help others who are affected by these conditions then I would be very grateful.&nbsp; It is a very worthwhile cause, so please donate what you can and dig deep.&nbsp; I know that &nbsp;the team will!</span></em></span></p> <p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><em><span style="font-family: 'sans-serif';">&nbsp;</span></em></span></p> <p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><em><span style="font-family: 'sans-serif';">Paul</span></em></span></p> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
