RIDE COMPLETED! 270 MILES FROM CORNWALL TO SURREY - AND NOT ALL TOTALLY FLAT!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS HELPED TO MAKE IT HAPPEN AND ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE DONATED SO GENEROUSLY.

WE DEDICATE EVERY PEDAL MADE AND EVERY PENNY RAISED TO THE MEMORY OF PIPPA AND ALSO TO THE REMARKABLE DOCTORS AND NURSES AT THE PRINCESS ALICE HOSPICE, ESHER.

PLEASE CHECK OUT KATE'S VIDEO:    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rdx60EBUyOc

Princess Alice Hospice became a huge part of Kate's, Rob's, Lara's and my life when our mother, Pippa, went in for what was to be her last week. She had battled against cancer for a total of 7 years.

The cost of running Princess Alice's Hospice is £6 million a year which works out as £16,500 a day. 20% of their funding comes from the government and the other 80% provided by donations from individuals and through fundraising. For this reason, we thought it would be very appropriate because the Hospice did everything in their power to make this a peaceful week, and on Pippa's behalf we could not have asked for anything more. The care she received from the nurses and doctors was remarkable. On top of that they looked after us as we struggled through.

One of our friends, Nick Cooper, has suggested that at half term a small group of us should cycle the 250 miles from our family home High Barn Farm in Surrey, to our house in Cornwall which was Pippa's main passion in her last three years. We were quickly advised that we needed the wind behind us so should make the ride the other way round.

We are trying to come to terms with all that has happened. We know that we have been very lucky for Pippa to have spent her last days at The Princess Alice. We would love to raise some money to show our gratitude to everyone at The Princess Alice and also, in a small way, to try to ensure that others have the extraordinary love and care that we were given.
