We support Birmingham Children's Hospital to improve the lives of sick children

Story

Total Motion employee, Jamie Rowley, has a 2 year old daughter, Peyton, who was diagnosed with a rare deletion to chromosome 17q12, which she’s had since birth.

This condition is so rare, that Peyton is the only known person in the medical data base, which is connected to all countries with an advanced genetics department, to have been born with this deletion; which is why there is no medical name for it.

The condition effects Peyton in many ways; Jamie describes Peyton as a 2 year old child in an 11 months old body - visually as well as her capabilities.

Peyton is being an incredibly brave little girl and is currently undergoing treatment which she will need to continue to receive for the rest of her life. The care andattention that Peyton receives from Birmingham Children’s Hospital every single time she visits the hospital for treatment has made the experience for the whole family, that little bit easier.

We have decided that raising funds for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital this year, for the incredible support that they give to Peyton and her family will be our charity focus, and we hope that you’ll join us along the way.

We will be cycling from the Total Motion HQ in Leicester to Sheringham, Norfolk, a total of 118 miles on 16th June and will be grateful to all of our supporters in helping us to raise funds.

Thank you in advance, the team at Total Motion.

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
