On 30th May, we (Ellie and Justin) will be off to Wales to hike the entire Pembrokeshire coast from Amroth in the south to St Dogmaels in the north. The twisting rocky coastline, made up of rugged cliff tops, exposed beaches and winding estuaries, extends for between 186 and 200 miles (depending on tidal crossings).

It's certainly not going to be easy. Tackling the entire coast in one attempt presents us with a formidable, not to mention daunting, physical challenge. It's not simply that we'll be completing the trek in just 8 days (almost a marathon a day!) but that the 35,000 feet of ascent and descent along the way is said to be equivalent to climbing Everest!

But that's enough about us, the real heroes are the people at When You Wish Upon A Star who make a tremendous difference to children with life threatening illnesses by making their wishes come true. Every day the charity helps to realise the dreams of these wonderfully courageous children. It may be a wish for a home computer or a new bicycle. It may be the chance to meet their favourite pop star or number one football player, or get to sit in a real tank and work the gun turret. It may even be the opportunity to swim with dolphins or to meet Mickey Mouse himself. The charity also has villas in Britain, Spain and Florida making it possible for children and their families to enjoy much needed and otherwise unaffordable holidays. It's here that the charity makes such a difference in bringing back an enormous amount of happiness to the children and their families alike.

One of the highlights of the charity's year is at Christmas time when they charter a couple of planes to take over 300 children to Lapland to meet Father Christmas and drop off their wish list in person! Whilst there, the children are given the chance to ride on skidoos, snowmobiles and quad bikes, take part in husky rides, sledging and skiing or even have a sleigh ride with Rudolph.
