Earl Mountbatten Hospice - Walk the Wight · 17 May 2009 ·

Mountbatten is the Isle of Wight's only hospice and is known for innovation across the UK and beyond. We provide expert medical, nursing and domiciliary end of life care and bereavement support to people in their own homes, including care homes, in our Newport building and in the local hospital.

Story

Thank you for looking at my teams page for walk the wight ...
After 4 types of Chemptherapy, 2 courses of radiotherapy and numerous operations I have now been told I have breast cancer in my liver and spine. I am now considered 'terminal'. I have had to stop Chemo as it is not working .... My team will be doing all of walk the wight and I am going to do all I can - I am lucky to be doing it with a great bunch of people.

I am a fighter and want to be here for as long as possible and am planning events to keep me going.

The hospice will be supporting me throughout my illness and I am determined to 'Walk the Wight'  this year to keep me going and to raise funds for the Hospice at the same time.

Please sponsor me and my team and spur us on

If you want to join our team let me know - we are all doing the 26 mile walk (I may need breaks but I will keep going I will !!!! who believes in stats anyway !!!)

Love Penny and team xx
