RALLY SUPPORT FOR SOPHIE’S PLACE

The Citroën Traction-Avant classic car rallies are organised by “Pertrac Découvertes” (Périgord Traction Discovery Rallies Association); a group of very dedicated Traction lovers. The aim of these rallies is to explore countries and to meet people of different cultures. The Traction-Avant acts as a cultural bridge between human beings of different nationalities.

After the successful rallies “Pertrac Tulipe” in Holland (2004) and “Pertrac Palmier” in Morocco (2006), a third rally, named “Pertrac Roses” will be organised in the S-E of England in June 2008.

We not only bring together lovers of classic cars from all over Europe and the UK but also support charitable causes as we go.

The “Pertrac Roses” rally is an independent event and any money that we raise through donations or sponsorship will be donated to ‘Sophie’s Place’, a dedicated assessment and treatment area for up to 300 children per month at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.

Work on “Sophie’s Place” has already started. There is, however, the small matter of funding to complete the project and includes the purchase of additional equipment, comfortable furnishing and entertainment for children whilst staying at “Sophie’s Place”.

For this reason the participants of the “Pertrac Roses” rally have committed themselves to collect donations for “Sophie’s Place” in a way to bring a little bit of Périgord sunshine to the hospitalized children. During the rally.

All donations received will be presented at “Sophie’s Place”.

Donating or Sponsoring?

Are you a lover of old tractions?  Do you eyes glance over at the one passing by?  If you would like to show your appreciation for the time we lovingly spend to keep these wonderful machines running, below are some ways in which you can help.  All donations received will be donated to Sophie’s Place at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester.

For individuals:

Your donation is most welcome and can be made here, online

It’s easy and safe to use and, if you are a UK taxpayer, we can reclaim Gift Aid.

Alternatively you can send a French cheque on behalf of the “Pertrac Découvertes” Association, see address below.  Please mention “Sophie’s Place/Pertrac Roses” when you send your cheque.  You may also see us ‘on the road’, please feel free to donate if you do!

All donors will receive a small token of appreciation so please leave your contact details when requested so that we can contact you.

If you donate of over 50 € (£35) and wish to be mentioned, we will gladly print your name on the promotional stickers carried on the Tractions. 

For companies, communities and associations:

We would gladly promote you or your company.  Your name or logo will be printed and carried on the Traction’s during the entire rally to promote your product or service. In addition, your name will be mentioned in the Pertrac Press Release.

For this we would ask for a minimum donation of 200 € (£135) all that we ask is that you provide the logo.

As a thank you, a copy of the slide presentation (DVD) of the adventures of the “Pertrac Roses” rally in England will be sent to you upon completion. The slide presentation will show your participation in the project.
