I decided to do this trek in the memory of my Grandfather Andy and in appreciation of the fantastic support that the Macmillan Nurses gave (and continue to give my Grandmother) during his fight with prostate cancer. During the time that Andy was ill my Grandmother also had to fight off breast cancer so without the Nurses help and support I don't know how we would have coped! Andy was a fantastic man, he always had a story to tell and taught me all my essential life skills (including how to make a perfect gin and lime!). He was not only my grandfather but my mentor and my friend.
The Trip will be spread over 10 days, most will be spent camping in the Andean Mountains. During the hike we will follow the original steep and remote Inka mountain paths up to the legendary Macchu Picchu. I will trek through cloud forest, climb a 4200m Andean peak and travel along the high mountains passes to the famous lost city.
This Trek will not only be a physical challenge but a major challenge to raise the minimum funds in advance! Please donate what ever you can afford, as the Tesco saying goes, "Every Little Helps!"

Nike 10k
Hey folks! The 10K on the 8th went spectacularly! I did the run in 52 mins 21 seconds, which, considering I'd never done it in under an hour 10 mins previously, is pretty darned good! Thanks to all that sponsered me! Any other ideas for how to get fundraising PLEASE let me know! I'm kind of struggling here and am worried I'm not going to make my target in time!
