About our charity : Trees for Cities Trees for Cities
Trees for Cities is an independent charity working to improve the environment in urban areas by involving local people in community tree planting, training and landscaping projects. We manage projects across London, in Brighton, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, the Midlands and Reading as well as internationally in Addis Ababa, Nairobi and Ica, Peru. All our community greening projects are supported by extensive community consultation and involvement programmes that incorporate local residents, schools and community groups. As well as educating local people about our projects, in London we also run a series of horticulture, arboriculture and woodland management courses specialising in developing and up-skilling the long-term unemployed.

Our personal message:

Pete and Annika are going to be running themselves ragged for a half marathon on the 5th of October 2008 to raise some much needed cash to benefit all of us mortals.  We will have covered well over 400 miles of cross country terrain in training for this event.

Trees for Cities is an independent charity working with local communities on tree-planting and landscaping projects.

Our aim is to tackle global warming, create social cohesion and beautify our cities through tree planting, community education and training initiatives in urban areas of greatest need - we're doing it for the better of all so please get ya wallets out!   As an example, £25 can plant a new tree in one of the urban projects in the UK or overseas and care for it until it's mature enough to care for itself.
