Willow 10K · 6 October 2013

Sands supports anyone affected by the death of a baby, works in partnership with health professionals to try to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care and funds research that could help to reduce the numbers of babies dying and families devastated by this tragedy.

Story

In September 2012, some of the finest wits who happen to call themselves Stevenage fans joined forces to launch the podcast A Load Of Old Toffee. I was under the impression all I'd have to do is upload the thing, make sure it could be listened to and occasionally turn up (youth games at Royston?)...

How I ended up signing up to the Willow 10K I don't know. That is a whole 10km. 1,000,000cm. 10,000,000mm. Of me running. Of Deano, Steve and Thora running. Over at Hatfield House, Hertfordshire on Sunday 6 October.

There is, however, a point to all of this. I am taking part with the intention of raising some money for a fantastic charity called Sands - it would, therefore, be much appreciated if you could dip your hand in your virtual pocket...

Let me tell you more about Sands (http://www.uk-sands.org/home.html) and the inspirational work it does. It provides much needed support for bereaved parents and their families. A worthy cause, I'm sure you'll agree.

Even if you can only spare a quid or two, it will all count and will go towards helping Sands continue its fine work. You'll also have my gratitude; not least because you have faith in my ability to complete the run :) x
