Everyone,

That time of year has come around again.  Another CARE Egypt Energy Challenge is rapidly approaching and I am once again asking for your help in raising funds.  In the past years - You - my good friends from around the world have helped me to support CARE Egypt projects across some of the poorest parts of this wonderful country.  Through the BP Matching fund, your contributions have been doubled, dollar-for-dollar, pound-for-pound, euro-for-euro, or whatever currency you have offered. 

This year is even more significant for me personally, as shortly after the event I hope to be marrying the organizer!  As some of you know, I met Hala through my first Challenge Event back in 2005.  You'll probably remember that I got involved in the Challenge to give me something positive to focus on after Gillian's death.  Over the past three years I've come to know this beautiful woman and wonderful person.  She has made me feel whole again, and I feel lucky to have her in my life Today. 

So, back to the hard sell.  If your personal circumstances still allow, I would love for you to support me again this year.  I know we are all looking at our bank accounts and making an audible gulp when we see how the balances have changed in the past few months.  I will understand 100% if this year you have to say sorry - no can do.  Alternatively, if you want to consider giving a donation in-lieu of a wedding gift, both Hala and I would think that fantastic!
