About my charity : Batten Disease Family Association Batten Disease Family Association
Batten Disease is a group of rare, progressive neurodegenerative, genetic metabolic diseases that occur in children and adults worldwide. The BDFA's Vision is to bring light to Batten Disease by being the central point of excellence in the UK for supporting affected families and to facilitate research into the disease.

BDFA Sponsored walk, 10th May 2008 - Vale of the White Horse, Oxon.

Our beautiful girls, Misha & Natalie, died of Late Infantile Batten Disease - Misha died in 2002 aged just 7 & Natalie died a year later in 2003. So far there is no cure & the result is always fatal. However....

The BDFA came alongside us, offering us friendship & support in our darkest days. Fundraising is vital to continue reaching out to families suffering a positive diagnosis. The charity also help fund research, so that one day there might be a cure or at least a treatment to help halt the onset of the disease.
