Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. On behalf of the Emergency Management Portal, I am raising funds for the Salvation Army by running (OK then, jogging) in the British 10K London on Sunday 12 July (that means 10 kilometers!).

Where the money is going

The Salvation Army have told me: "We are always trying to raise money to replace our mobile canteens or to put them in other locations. Apart from supporting at rest centres etc our mobile canteens are called out on average four times a week in the UK to support emergency responders at incident sites". Donations will go towards this aspect of the Salvation Army's work which fits in with the type of information published by the Emergency Management Portal.

When and where - and what happened!

The run took place in central London on Sunday 12 July. Thanks to the support of friends and family, and a few months of arduous training, I completed the run in a record time. I have run this course several times in previous years in times varying from 72 to 76 minutes. This year, I ran it in 65 minutes (see the official photo).

Your donation

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: the Salvation Army gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

This page will be here until 12 October 2009, so you can sponsor me even though the run is over!
