Thanks for taking the time to visit my Justgiving fundraising page.
Some of you may already know that last year I took part in the Great South Run, a 10 mile flat road race through Portsmouth, for Motability. It lashed down with rain all morning and the wind blew in hard from the sea - it was one of the hardest, yet best things I have ever done. I managed to finish in 1hour 40mins (impressive I know), and raised over £250 for Motability.
This year I’ve upped the anti – Motability have asked me to do the Great North Run, Britain’s most famous half-marathon (13.1 miles), which is taking place this Sunday 20 September 2009! This race is really going to test me to the limit, it’s the furthest I’ve ever run and the course is undulating (hilly to you non-runners out there) – not for the faint hearted, but I’m up for the challenge and I really want to raise more money for Motability.
This is where I need your help…Motability is a national charity helping disabled people by providing grants towards the cost of adaptations to cars, driving lessons for young disabled drivers and sometimes towards the cost of a car that might better suit a disabled person and their families needs. Without these charitable grants many of their disabled customers would not be able to get out and about and have the freedom of mobility that many of us take for granted.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I’m aiming to raise £300, I’m over halfway there but I need your help to raise a bit more, so go on dig deep and sponsor me as much as you can afford.
Thank you so much.
Pete
