Really it's more of a three dimensional challenge than just Lands End to John O'Groats. The plan is to start in the sea and climb up to the road by the classic rock climb 'Lands End Long Climb' (first climbed by the Royal Marines in 1946). I'll then cycle to John O'Groats via Snowdon, Scafell and Ben Nevis (which will all be ascended on foot) and finally, I will get a Ferry across to Hoy and climb the Old Man of Hoy via the 'Original Route'.

I think this completes the trip quite nicely and gives it some added structure!
