Dear friends and colleagues,

Thanks to all of you who are supporting this challenge. I have to announce that Michael and I shall not be riding in June but in August. There has been a slight hitch - I needed to raise lots more before the end of March and so the trip has been put back - but nevermind - more training, more working out with Michael and we should be set to go 31 August with your continued support.

The ride still starts at Crystal Palace in London to arrive at the Eiffel Tower in Paris on Saturday 3 September, 500 km later. The winter training was really bad with howling gales , sub-zero temperatures and the snow : my bike came back looking like a Turner Prize! Let's hope the summer can be like its been over Easter!

So all the fancy stuff about diets and electrolytes are encouraging in the armchair - getting out and turning the pedals is what it is all about - so I'm off!
