Story
[Note from Pete: I am running the marathon, not the half marathon, as the top of this page suggests!]
Hi,
My name is Emma. I am four months old. My dad is running the New Forest Marathon on 21 September and is raising money for Concern Worldwide's work in Ethiopia.
Dad delegated the task of raising money to me. He says I'm cuter than him so might be able to get more donations. And he's too busy with nappies to raise money himself. (But he did help me write this message.)
If you're not sure whether to sponsor him, here are three reasons that might persuade you:
1. The money will make a big difference to people in real need in Ethiopia, where a drought and rising food prices have hit people hard. If Dad can raise £500, it will be enough to give 140 malnourished children extra food for a month so that they can gain wait and get healthy.
2. My dad thought the New Forest Marathon would be flat. But it's not, it's hilly. And he's now regretting entering it. So he needs some extra motivation.
3. The more money my dad raises, the happier my dad will be. And when he's happy, he sings to me which I really like (but my mum doesn't).
So please sponsor my dad!
Luv,
Emma
PS. Dad says you can look at the Concern website to learn more about the situation in Ethiopia - http://www.concern.net/what-we-do/appeals/ethiopia-appeal/ethiopia-appeal.php
