Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. UPDATE : We successfully completed our Coast to Coast walk on Sunday 14th September at 6:30p.m. twelve days after leaving St. Bees. It was an unforgettable experience, not least because of the absolutely appalling weather we had for the first four days as we crossed the Lake District.Fortunately the weather improved a bit as we headed East. We had a sweeptake for the first day when it didn't rain; Kate won on Day 6. After that it was a mixture of sunshine and showers but we ended the walk on a gloriously sunny day which we felt we deserved after the drenching we had had earlier on. Thanks very much for your support Peter ---------------------------------------------------------------- For twelve days in September my brother, sister-in-law and myself will be walking the Coast to Coast Walk from St.Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay in North Yorkshire. The route is 190 miles in total and will take us through the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors. The aim is to raise money for the Myfanwy Townsend Melanoma Research Fund which aims to raise awareness, and fund research to find a cure for one of the most rapidly increasing forms of cancer in the world. I had known Miff since I was a very small child, her eldest son Mark and I were great friends right back in primary school days. Miff was always very kind to me and, just like everybody else, I was greatly saddened when she died from malignant melanoma in 1999.
