Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. As part of running the 2009 London Marathon I am hoping to raise as much as I can for the International Medical Corps (UK).
The International Medical Corps is a USA based charity dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training, relief and development programmes. The IMC operates in many countries devastated by conflict and poverty, rehabilitating devastated health care systems to help bring them back to self-reliance.
The IMC's activities focus on building health capacity, emergency response, women and children's health and well-being, mental health, clean water and safe sanitation.
Recent successes for the IMC (UK) includes providing health care and training in Afghanistan, humanitarian aid in Iraq, rebuilidng schools in Lebanon, providing health centres and clinics in the Central African Republic, helping to re-establish communities and employment opportunities in Chechnya and Ingushetia.
Though this website is the easiest most convenient way to donate and can also give the charity an extra boost through gift aid, please consider paying me in person if you can, as any amount I can raise off-line will be doubled by my employer, General Electric. (I need to personally make a single donation through the GE Foundation to qualify for this).
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: International Medical Corps (UK) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
