DELTA Bike Ride 2008 · 22 June 2008 ·

DELTA believes that the vast majority of deaf children can learn to listen and talk and that all parents of deaf children should be given this option. It's aim is to promote the education of hearing impaired children through their residual hearing capacity and naturally spoken language.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I have signed up for the DELTA bike ride 2008 taking place on June 22nd. DELTA is a national charity that supports and develops the Natural Aural Approach to the education of profoundly and severely deaf children. The vast majority of these children can learn to listen and talk if given the right technical aids and support. DELTA believes that all parents of deaf children should be given this option for their children.

I have entered this ride as a team with friend Robert Beaumont so you will be sponsoring both our efforts.

The ride starts in Reigate and follows a country lane route to Ovingdean Hall School near Brighton, covering a distance of 48 miles which includes the Ditchling Beacon climb.

You may be thinking this is a fairly normal distance for me to ride. Therefore I will be riding to the start from home, a distance of 35 miles. Further, I plan to ride some of the way home depending on how I feel, this will be at minimum a route of 27 miles from Brighton to my parents.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: DELTA (Deaf Education through Listening and Talking) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
