Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year we have decided to take on the challenge of Tough Mudder, an extreme 12 mile run traversing 25+ military style obstacles designed by the Special Forces. We have chosen to fund raise for The MS Society, the UK's leading chairty for multiple sclerosis (MS), because in 2008 one of our closest friend was diagnosed with the disease.
Around 100,000 people in the UK have MS and it's normally diagnosed in people between the ages of 20 and 40. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disorder of the brain and spinal cord. It can cause various symptoms. In most cases, episodes of symptoms come and go at first for several years. In time, some symptoms can become permanent and can cause disability. Although there is no cure for MS, various drugs and therapies may reduce the number of flare-ups and can help to ease symptoms and disability.
The MS Society fund research, give grants, campaign for change, provide information and support, invest in MS specialists and lend a listening ear to those who need it. They have invested £133 million in research since 1956 and provide financial help for people with MS as well as many other supportive services.
