Story
On the 8th March 2015, I am running 10K in the Milton Keynes Festival of Running to raise money for CLIC Sergeant - A charity that supports Children with Cancer.
The 8th March 2015 also marks exactly one year since I lost my Mum to Cancer. My Mum, Maureen Sofer, was a Childminder who had worked with children since she left school. Before she died, Mum (or Moo-Moo as she was known to the children she cared for) chose CLIC Sargeant as a charity she wanted to support as she couldn't bear the thought of children having to go through what she did.
In the past year, family and friends have raised over £3K in Mum’s memory and we want to continue to see this grow. We wanted to find a way we could continue to remember Mum in a positive way around this date whilst also raising funds for her chosen charity. A growing group of friends and family will all be taking part in the event in Milton Keynes, running in four different distances on the same day. My Dad heads up the 5K event, me the 10K and my brother the Half Marathon… and an old friend, Adam, is doing the 20 mile!
Any amount will help so please sponsor me whatever you can afford to help CLIC Sargent provide clinical, practical and emotional support to help children cope with cancer and get the most out of life.
Thank you so much for your support
